‘Rain’ from M3staken

album cover

Hip-hop lovers assemble! Electronic fans too! Especially those who like the two mixed together, as American producer and artist, M3staken has finished his conceptual trilogy of albums with ‘Rain’.

The new album sees M3staken pick up where he left off with ‘Apex’ and ‘Water Colors’, displaying his super experimental style that is dark, fragmented, beat-heavy and intriguing.

It’s by no means easy listening, but those who relish an aural challenge will be inspired by M3staken’s willingness to expand musical possibilities and not restrict himself to the four walls of a single genre.

Although M3staken takes inspiration from contemporary acts such as Joey Bada$$, Jamie XX and FKA Twigs, these influences are mere hints that the talented young producer draws upon when concocting his complex style of music. It would be easy to see many artists in the future being inspired by M3staken himself, due to hi incomparable style.

As the last piece of M3’s trilogy, he notes that this is the album that has meant the most to him due to its conclusive nature that seems to summarise his style. M3 commented that Rain is ‘loosely connected to my two previous works and it is primarily a collection of my personal favourite songs’.
